Joan Güell

A vibrant, elegant project filled with music

Initially, we encountered a 54 m2 home with four rooms, a bathroom, kitchen, and balcony. Our client’s premise was to create a single space to live alone or with a partner, and to establish a cozy and functional home to enhance well-being and comfort.

For the new design, the balcony was integrated into the home to gain space in the living room. Thanks to the installation of a large window, natural light has increased, and the natural greenery of the trees has been integrated into the home.

Only the dressing room and bathroom have been delimited;the rest are open spaces. However, to reduce light and increase privacy in the bedroom area, several roll-up screens have been installed.

The largest space is the living room, consisting of a music area with a piano and bookshelf unit, while the other part features the TV area and a relaxation corner with a side bench and hanging plants. Highlighting the structure dividing the living room and bedroom is a bioethanol fireplace, a swiveling television (to be enjoyed in both spaces), and shelves.

In the bedroom, notable features include the storage bed base for increased storage space and a small work area with exterior views.

The kitchen is open, comfortable, and welcoming at the entrance of the apartment, inviting enjoyment of a glass of wine while finishing cooking, chatting with family and friends, or enjoying a coffee -a passion of our client- hence, a corner was created for preparing excellent coffee.

The laundry area is integrated into a very small space but with everything necessary (washing machine, water softener, reverse osmosis, accessories, and a folding wooden drying rack). Right next to it is a hidden closet with all cleaning products.

Decoratively, a contrast has been created with modern elements and simple lines, incorporating different colors, shapes, and textures found in walls, furniture, textiles, and decorative accessories (many of them from different styles), giving it an eclectic vibe. A blend of elements that harmonize seamlessly and accurately reflect the client’s artistic flair and passion for art.

Significant importance has been given to lighting in the project. A Phillips Hue system has been installed, allowing control of the lights in each room via mobile and Alexa: changing light intensity and color, turning bulbs on and off simultaneously or by room, and even choosing scenes to create a specific type of lighting.

Finally, some of the brands used deserve mention. In the bathroom, the Tercoder stone sink and the decorative shower lining Aqualunae from the Glamora firm. Auró kitchen furniture, Ascale Tau’s Grassi White soft matt countertop, and the Pando ceiling extractor hood Finsa’s vintage oak laminate flooring, TQuattre PVC windows, and custom-made furniture from Fustería Vallés. The kitchen’s track lights, the Luce Buxton model from Nova Luce, the hanging lights in the living room are from the same manufacturer and model, Marce; and the recessed ceiling lights from Luzfin. The sofa and armchair from Egoitaliano, and the fireplace from Pio.
