Les Tres Torres

A modern apartment with a classic essence in Barcelona

In this project, the owners acquired this house to completely transform it, adapting it to the needs and tastes of the couple and their two children. Functionality and comfort were the main objective, without neglecting style at all.

The regular-shaped apartment is made up of a day area made up of an open space with plenty of natural light with the kitchen open to the living room, distributed to create an open space with circular traffic. In this way, a very dynamic and practical movement has been achieved for day to day living, which connects with the night area differentiated into two parts. On one hand we find the main suite-type bedroom a little separated to achieve more privacy and on the other hand, the two children’s bedrooms and a second bathroom.

The hall is made up of a very light suspended piece of furniture and some hanging lamps with a design that acquires special prominence. Likewise, as in the corridors, built-in wardrobes have been installed with a smooth finish in a sandy tone in keeping with the rest of the apartment. The hall is open to the living room, but a section of the partition has been maintained as a separator so that the entrance door is not so visible.

In the living room, a TV cabinet has been installed with cabinets on the sides and at the bottom, two divided columns with illuminated shelves and a central area with the TV suspended framed in a hole. The five-seated corner sofa acts as a dividing element between the living room and the dining room without breaking the visual continuity. Indirect lighting has also been used to differentiate the two areas; a rectangular recess frame at the center of the room while in the dining room the light is arranged around the perimeter, thus creating a visual contrast.

The kitchen has been completed with a peninsula with full visibility to the dining room and living room. Composed of a cooktop and extractor in the same piece from the manufacturer Bora, and a bar area to make any of the meals of the day. Another interesting detail is the hole to prepare the coffee that is found in the column cabinets. The furniture with an ultra matt anti-fingerprint Zenit basalt stone finish is from the manufacturer Rekker and the countertop and front Kira model from Dekton is inspired by natural stone with a background in earthy tones combined with veins.

The master bedroom has a bathroom with a shower and a dressing room with wardrobes distributed in parallel, open at the top and drawers in the lower area. In addition, another large cabinet has been installed in front of the bed with an integrated television. The bedrooms of the little ones have been located on the other side together with the second bathroom of the house and a distributor space that can be used both as a games room and as a work area.

It should be noted that the house that the house also has a laundry room that connects with a gallery area, a terrace that runs around the entire perimeter of the living room and a second small terrace on the bedroom side.

On a decorative level, materials and finishes have been carefully selected, creating a very warm and sophisticated environment. A mix between the classic and the modern, which manages to absorb the best of both. With a palette of main colors based on neutral tones, which contrast with the black present in some elements: enclosures, cabinet handles, table legs and chairs… and with a touch of color through textile accessories. Also, in the hall and in one of the children’s bedrooms, different wall coverings have been installed to give them texture and a different touch.
