Modern, cozy and elegant apartment with large windows

The initial goal of this project was to transform the day area of the home into an open design featuring a kitchen, living room, dining room, and office in one space; to create a play and study area for the two children on the second floor; and to improve comfort and energy efficiency..

Starting with the dining room, it is located at the end of the living room at a different height and next to large windows, which have been completely renovated, offering magnificent views of Barcelona. From this space, you can access a terrace with a chill-out area. Also noteworthy is the ceiling lamp composed of four opal glass spheres with a black structure that presides over the dining table, filling and accentuating this high-ceilinged space.

Next, we find the TV and relaxation area, consisting of a four-seater chaise lounge sofa, a low horizontal cabinet running wall-to-wall that extends to the dining area; a melamine panel on the TV wall with a vertical garden on one side and an LED strip at the top creating a very attractive effect. Next to the cabinet, there is a fantastic gas fireplace, integrated into a plasterboard covering, with white ceramic stones inside that contrast with the black structure.

In the central part, there is the entrance hall (with two access doors) with a very minimalist aesthetic that goes unnoticed thanks to the melamine covering on the wall and doors, which, together with the laminated floor, make this space warmer and cozier. In front, there is a spiral staircase with glass treads (already existing before the renovation), and a luxurious large hanging lamp with glass spheres that visually fills the space with its double-height ceiling.

At the back, there is an office area for the owners to work from home And there is still a free space that, if necessary, could expand the sofa or office area, or create a seating area, chill-out zone, play area, etc.

Undoubtedly, the kitchen would be the highlight of the renovation. A practical space has been created where you can cook and eat comfortably, with extra storage space; and a perfect meeting point to spend special moments with family and friends. The central island houses the cooking area with a large work surface and a space with stools for dining. On both sides, there are column cabinets with integrated appliances and two niches with the sink and coffee area. Aesthetically, the sober and elegant combination of black and wood stands out, as well as the mix of different types of lighting, which not only allow all activities to be carried out but also achieve a great impact on the decor.

On the upper floor, a very versatile space has been created, which is currently used as a study and play area for the children, and which connects to the outdoor dining area with a barbecue thanks to the triple-pane aluminum enclosure.

Finally, to break the monotony of the combination of light tones with wood, black has been used in several elements: window profiles, lamps, fireplace, and furniture.
