A home with classic and modern charm in the Eixample

EnIn the emblematic neighborhood of Eixample in Barcelona, a complete renovation has been carried out to adapt the home to the current needs of its inhabitants, creating a family-friendly and pleasant environment. The only exception was the kitchen, which had already been renovated a few years ago.

Special emphasis has been placed on the conservation and restoration of old elements. The high ceilings with cornices have been restored, with new ones replacing the old, and all the wooden windows have been carefully restored to maintain their original appearance. In the living room, the Catalan vaulted ceilings have been left exposed, adding an authentic and characterful atmosphere. Additionally, one of the walls has been left with exposed brick, and meticulous work has been done to recover the Nolla mosaic and the hydraulic tiles, which were in very poor condition and hidden under the old flooring.

The layout has been optimized to adapt to the family’s lifestyle, prioritizing functionality and comfort.

The master bedroom has been transformed into an intimate suite with a walk-in closet, private bathroom, and small workspace. Additionally, the home features two children’s bedrooms, an additional bathroom, a laundry room, and a second quiet and comfortable office space for working.

The gallery is another standout space, where an area with armchairs and plants has been created, inviting relaxation. This space connects to the living room through two arches and is equipped with a folding enclosure to open it up during good weather.

Not forgetting the hall, it has large-capacity closets and a bench to facilitate the process of putting on or taking off shoes comfortably.

Aesthetically, noble materials and neutral tones have been combined to create a warm, comfortable, and cozy space. The inclusion of subtle golden details, such as in the faucets and the profile of the shower screen in the master bathroom, as well as in the pendant lamps in the bedroom and dining room, adds a touch of sophistication and elegance to the rooms. For the floors, an elegant herringbone laminate has been chosen, adding warmth and an extra touch of elegance.

In summary, this comprehensive renovation in the Eixample of Barcelona has succeeded in enhancing the original architectural charm of the home, adapting it to the contemporary needs of a modern family, and creating a home where the classic and the current blend harmoniously.
