In this project, the entire apartment has been completely renovated while preserving some original elements of architectural value from the Modernist period, enhancing it with maximum comfort.
Due to the design and original state of conservation, it was not possible to preserve and restore all elements, but the majority have been maintained: the Nolla mosaic flooring, the interior and exterior wooden carpentry, and the ceiling moldings and medallions in the living room and master bedroom suite. All of this was done while adding a complete lighting system, ducted air conditioning, and insulation without damaging the original features.
The layout has been significantly modified. For example, the living room has been expanded by incorporating an adjacent room; the master bedroom has been transformed into a suite with a private bathroom and walk-in closet. By changing the hallway layout, a second bedroom, a larger bathroom, and a very practical laundry area integrated into a closet have been achieved.
The style is somewhat eclectic, as the owners enjoy mixing special pieces from different parts of the world with colonial, modern, and Mediterranean furniture, achieving personalized and unique combinations. They also had many works of art and decorative items that have been integrated into the various spaces.
The kitchen and bathrooms have a more contemporary aesthetic, with materials unified in a more natural look, such as the terrazzo effect of the Mirage Norr series ceramics.
For the finishes of the cabinets and parquet flooring, efforts were made to unify the tones, opting for lighter shades to avoid overwhelming the spaces and thus giving prominence to the Nolla flooring and the warmer tone of the restored woodwork.
Finally, it is worth highlighting the sofa with movable backs that allows for enjoyment both while watching TV in the living room and during informal conversations in the central area of the living room.
