In this project, we completely transformed a two-story home to suit the lifestyle of the family. With three children, the owners sought a functional, comfortable space tailored to their needs and preferences. They purchased a property in need of renovation, where redistributing the layout played a key role in optimizing square footage and maximizing natural light in darker areas.
The day area is the heart of the home, organized into two interconnected spaces separated by wall openings: a spacious and inviting living room, perfect for relaxation and entertainment, and a dining room connected to the kitchen. This design fosters family interaction while maintaining the independence of each area to ensure functionality and comfort in daily life.
The kitchen, with its timeless and classic style, stands out with paneled cabinetry and golden knobs. Its L-shaped layout with a central island is particularly functional. To visually lighten the space, some cabinets feature glass doors, perfect for showcasing dinnerware or decorative items.
The master bedroom is an intimate and elegant retreat, featuring a walk-through closet with parallel wardrobes leading to a fully equipped bathroom. The bathroom includes a shower, a bathtub, and a toilet discreetly hidden behind a frosted glass door for added privacy and style.
The hallway features a surprising element: a guest bathroom concealed behind a paneled green wall with decorative moldings. This adds vitality and contrast to the predominantly neutral tones throughout the home.
Aesthetically, the transformation has been remarkable. The design draws inspiration from a classic and refined style. Moldings add symmetry, elegance, and a unique character to the walls, while classic cabinetry and furniture enhance the overall harmony of the design.
Finally, the home includes a versatile second floor, currently used as a play area for the children and a workspace. With its own bathroom, this level is ideal for accommodating the family’s future needs, offering flexibility to adapt to new purposes over time.
